The process of digitally signing a RIN message is as follows:
The sending RIN processor generating the RIN message shall assemble the RIN message, but with the exception of the signature composite in the
MessageHeader, and, typically, save it to a permanent storage medium;
The sending RIN processor shall calculate a hash sum of the saved RIN message;
This hash sum shall then be encrypted using the private key of the party signing the message;
The signature composite in the
MessageHeadershall then be created and be added into the RIN message, which then can be stored and shared.
